The head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, considers the risk of escalation in relations between NATO and Russia “very real”.”NATO and the United States do not want a war with Russia… but the possibility of escalation is very real,” Milley told Foreign Affairs magazine, adding that the consequences of the escalation would be devastating.Milley also said the US would do everything possible to prevent a strategic military alliance between Russia and China.
