The movers of the motion seeking to impeach the four Commissioners of Parliament have revealed that they are now left with only one signature to raise the required number needed to table their motion on the floor of Parliament.

The increase in the number of signatures raising to 176 on Wednesday was after a number of sectoral committee chairpersons that were dropped appended their signatures on the motion .

The censure motion seeking to impeach the four commissioners of Parliament has gained momentum after some of the dropped sectoral committee chairpersons appended their signatures on the motion.

Some of the dropped committee chairpersons include D. Emmanuel Otala, who has been the chairperson of the committee on natural resources, Abdi Chemaswet, the vice chairperson of the committee on East Africa, Judith Aryek, the chairperson of the Lango Parliamentary GTroup and Ronald Akuguzibwe of Buruli County.

To some their decision has been as a result of the pressure from electorates and the need to cleanse parliament of corruption.

The movers now say they are only left with one signature to raise the required number signatures to have the motion tabled on the floor of Parliament.

“I want to inform the country that today we managed to collected four out of the five signatures and this means we are only left with one signature,” Tororo Woman MP Sarah Opendi said.

“Out target is not only one signature but we want to raise more than one and we shall continue sitting on this historical table until when we get the necessary signature. Come and get the blessings of signing on the censure motion,” Kalungu West MP Joseph Ssewungu said.
