President Museveni has decreed that there will not be any COVID-19 testing during the NAM summit so that there is no spying on DNA.
“During the NAM summit, we shall not do the compulsory corona testing. Why? It is because, after consultations with some of NAM stakeholders, we found that some of the NAM delegates do not want their DNA exposed,” he said in a post on his social media handles on Thursday.
According to Museveni, the decision to scrap the mandatory Covid testing was reached after being advised by some stakeholders in the summit that some people could be interested in getting the DNAs of some of the delegates which could compromise their security.
