Katabi town council on Friday 12 paid tribute to the late Sulpsio Ssemogerere Ssemakula in memory and respect for his great contributions to the town council, Wakiso district, and the country at large.
Ssemogerere was the Wakiso distinct councilor representing Katabi, a professional teacher and the president of the Rotary Club of Kajjansi for many years. He died of cancer on the 17th of December 2023 in Turkey where he was taken for treatment.
Ronald Kalema the Katabi town council chairperson said that during his time in service, Ssemogerere raised the motion that made Katabi a town council from sub-county as it used to be so that’s why they decided to mourn his loss in a remarkable way of respect to the significant role towards the town council and Wakiso district.
He also noted that Ssemogerere not only provided him with a home but also recognized the importance of education whereby he ensured that he received an education from secondary school through university.
“His dedication and commitment to my education were immeasurable. Through his guidance and encouragement, he instilled in me a passion for learning and a belief in the power of education,” he noted.

He also remarked that Sulpsio Semogerere’s impact on his life and the lives of those he cared for cannot be adequately expressed in words saying that his selflessness, kindness, and dedication to education will forever be cherished.
“He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire and guide us,” Kalema added.

Stephen Ssekigozi the former Busiro South aspirate member of parliament also added a voice of appreciation made by the late Sulpsio Ssemogerere for the development of his area as well as the guidance in terms of counseling to different leaders in this country.
Ian Kyeyune the former Wakiso district chairperson said that Ssemogerere will always be remembered based on the great services rendered during his time of office as a councilor at Wakiso district including the land that holds the district headquarters, markets in different areas of the district like the Abaita ababiri market, Nansana market among others.
Sulpsio Ssemogerere Ssemakula was buried buried on Saturday 13th January at his home in Mpala, Katabi town council Wakiso district.
