This morning, I went with lawyers George Musisi and Katana Benjamin to check on our comrades who are in detention at Kitalya for over two years. I appreciate these lawyers who have withstood all the bullying and provocations by the military court and continued to represent our people. Today’s meeting was largely consultative about the way forward regarding their case, which is yet to be heard after over two years in detention. This follows the developments of last week where new charges were brought as well as the decision of the military court to restrict the media from the hearings. We discussed various options which we shall also discuss with their families. They appreciate everyone who’s fighting for them from the outside and request all of us to do more in speaking about their plight.
